Digital Design Director

Position: Digital Design Director
Agency: Kurppa Hosk
Location: Oslo
Deadline: 15/03/2026
Contract: Full-time
Level: Director

Design how brands behave.

How people encounter a product is the very truth about who the company is.

At Kurppa Hosk, we don't view branding as design, but as an integrated system within a company. We create brands that make people think, feel or act. We are now looking for a Digital Design Director who will help define how brands manifest themselves digitally.

About Kurppa Hosk

Kurppa Hosk is an international design studio with offices in Oslo, Stockholm, Chicago, and New York. We work from insight to impression, developing 360-degree brand experiences for ambitious brands globally.

Our disciplines range from visual identity, packaging and industrial design, typography and spatial design to digital experiences, motion, 3D and creative technology. Everything we do stems from a clear brand idea and an uncompromising attitude to quality.

We are part of Eidra – an interdisciplinary collective that combines strategy, design, technology, and data. In Oslo, we consist of around 30 consultants and designers. Internationally, we are part of a larger ecosystem that gives us both reach and depth.

About the role

As Digital Design Director, you will be a key voice in the development of our digital design environment in Oslo and in the studio as a whole.

The role moves between the conceptual and the concrete. You will work hands-on in complex brand projects, while setting the direction for methodology, quality and professional ambition. You will operate in close dialogue with creative leaders, brand designers and strategists, and in collaboration with technologists and development environments at Eidra.

Responsibilities

Define digital brand behaviour – You will be able to develop principles and systems that translate brand strategy into digital experiences with clear character, precision and relevance.

Strengthen digital design quality – Through your own work and professional leadership, you will help to strengthen the level of interaction, UI, movement and overall digital identity.

Developing methodology at the intersection of design and technology – You are motivated by exploring how design and technology can merge, from design systems to creative coding and new formats.

Building and shaping a digital environment – The role may involve recruiting, developing and bringing together digital designers around a clear professional direction.

Operate in complex contexts – You navigate confidently in projects with high ambitions, international interfaces and demanding stakeholders – without losing your creative edge.

Be central in pitch processes and represent Kurppa Hosk – You will be able to contribute to the development of new cases and concepts, and represent Kurppa Hosk in meetings.

Who we are looking for

A clear digital signature – Perhaps you have several years of experience from a design studio, agency or in-house, and have developed strong digital concepts where brand and user experience are seamlessly integrated.

In-depth brand understanding – You see how the brand lives in systems, interactions and moving surfaces, and you are able to translate strategy into digital expressions that enhance the experience.

Professional leadership through precision – You do not need to have leadership experience, but you have the qualities to lead through argumentation, direction and professional gravitas, and you have a desire to grow into greater responsibility.

Curiosity about the potential of technology – You are comfortable in dialogue with developers, and perhaps you have explored creative frameworks, prototyping or new digital tools yourself. You are curious about how AI can be used as a creative and strategic tool in the development of digital brand experiences.

International orientation – You are fluent in Norwegian and English, both written and spoken, and thrive in projects that span markets and cultures.

What you get with us

A studio with a keen sense of style – You will be part of an environment with clear ambitions, strong opinions and uncompromising quality, where design is taken seriously.

Real influence – You will have the opportunity to shape both the professional direction, working methods and team at a time when we are investing in digital growth.

Complex international projects – We work with brands that require precision, courage and an understanding of systems.

Interdisciplinary power through Eidra – You will work closely with strategists, technologists and analysts, and help redefine what the agency model can look like.

A culture characterised by ambition and respect – We welcome strong opinions, deep concentration and high standards. We believe in clarity in our work and in dialogue.

A new home for big ideas – We are based in new offices in Oslo, with our own restaurant and perhaps the best lunch in town.

Development taken seriously – You will have access to coaching, professional sparring and continuous development, both locally and through the international Eidra environment.

Competitive conditions – Responsibility, expectations and compensation go hand in hand with us. We offer a solid and well-thought-out framework that reflects the experience and responsibility that the role entails.
